On the one hand, the coming Porsche 918 has all the elements you'd expect in a supercar: outrageous price ($845,000), ludicrous horsepower (795), insane top speed (200-plus mph), 0-to-60-mph time quick enough to remove tattoos (less than 2.9 seconds) and an intergalactic Nordschleife clocking of 7 minutes, 14 seconds. But the thing that sets the 918 completely apart from every supercar you've ever heard of is this: It gets more than 70 mpg.
