The Great Depression of the '30's

The Great Depression of the Thirty's produced some of the most sought after vintage collector cars on this planet. Names like Bugatti, Rolls Royce, Dusenberg, Cadillac, Maybach, Pierce Arrow, and many others. Many of these names are no longer with us, but with amazing commitment to retaining the style and essence of these grand automobiles and works of art, serious collectors continue to exchange and hold these cars regularly through a variety of auction outlets. My individual favorite are the Rolls Royce and Dusenberg. My specific Dusenberg favorite is the SJ Supercharged Coupe. How is it that at a time when GDP and productivity of the States was faltering, unemployment was peaking at 25% and the road forward appeared to be nothing but full of nasty potholes, these masterfully crafted behemoths were born>? I suppose it is as at this time, also one of challenged economic activity and creeping unemployment, there are segments of society that are not as affected, and their lives continue as does the creativity of those servicing the sector. Will this time be different?
