It isn't all that often that a remake of just about anything eclipses the original, but the 2000 remake of Gone in Sixty Seconds with Nick Cage and Angelina Jolie is considered by many to be one of the hottest car flicks of all time.

As hot as Angie is, the star of the show was another female, albeit one with wheels, but Eleanor has curves in all the right places. The '67 GT500 clone was designed by famed Hot Rod illustrator Steve Stanford and was brought to life by Chip Foose.

There were twelve cars built for the movie, five of which were stunt cars that were destroyed during filming.

Going across the auction block at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham, England this weekend, this particular car is one of three hero cars used for close up driving scenes. In other words, this is one of the cars that Cage actually drove during filming.

In fact, this car was used primarily for interior dialogue shots and even includes soem key touches like the "Go Baby Go" button. Under the hood lies a 351 ci Ford Racing crate motor that has been massaged with an even more aggressive cam and a 4 barrel, 700 cfm Holley carb. As we might dream, the rumble from the functioning side pipes is said to be spectacular.

It seems like everyone and his brother has an Eleanor clone these days, but this is one of only 2 of the originals that are in private hands. In other words, while she won't go cheap, this is the chance of a lifetime to buy are real Hollywood starlet.
