The Passing of an Automotive Journalist Pioneer (Autoweek)

DED Jr. was an icon in many different ways.  But most notably in my view, he possessed a love for all automotive, and drove intently for a love for life with the aforementioned all things automotive.  I remember well his efforts to launch Automobile Magazine.  In my view he was instrumental in getting the automotive press online.  With the launch of Winding Road I believe he has picked up where others have left off, once again trailblazing.  A life well lived would be my view.

David E. Davis Jr., inarguably one of the deans of automotive journalism, died on Sunday, March 27, at age 80. Davis had been suffering from bladder cancer and underwent surgery a few days earlier. Even so, his passing was unexpected. He appeared to be in comparatively good health and was in reasonably good spirits at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in Florida just two weeks earlier....
