A Favorite Ferrari 1964 250GT Lusso (Michael Sheehan and Ferraris-Online.com)

In 1987-88 when I briefly operated a small brokerage business for exotic and specialty cars, I met Michael and his shop European Auto in Costa Mesa, CA.  He's a transplanted Canadian and we've continued to stay in touch.  This offering reminds me all too well of a similar car available to me FOB Switzerland in 1987 for $55k.  23 years and the asking price is 10X.  A Beautiful Pininfirina Designed and Scaglietti Coachwork Berlinetta with extreme aural pleasure coming from the Type 168 6 Weber 3 liter V12 rated at approx. 300hp.

There was a special Lusso that crossed the auction block recently with Christie's in Monterey (August 2009).  This auction featured Steve McQueen's 1963 250GT Lusso in Marrone Metallizzato with a Beige leather interior.  That provenance gave it a $2.3M bid for a fabulous example of a gorgeous car.

In Classic Rosso Corsa, the current offering may not have the provenance, but still a work of mechanical art.  Dreaming on!

1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta Serial Number 5529 GT

1964 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta s/n 5529 GT photo
250 Lusso s/n 5529 GT has exceptional Rosso Corsa paint with unusually nice black leather and unblemished light grey carpets over an "as-new" body. 250 Lusso s/n 5529 GT has a well documented history with only four known owners from new. A gorgeous pampered Lusso that runs and drives as nicely as it looks! Documented history going back to the late-1960s.

The 250 Lusso was the last of the legendary 250 GT road cars and thanks to exquisite Pininfarina coachwork, the 250 Lusso remains one of the most aesthetically pleasing and best driving Ferrari road cars ever produced. With only 350 cars built, the 250 Lusso has always been the most collectable of the 250 GT road going Berlinettas. Thanks to a sweet running V-12, a Watts link rear suspension, a well spaced gearbox and disc brakes, the Lusso handles and drives as nicely as it looks.

250 Lusso s/n 5529 GT is complete with the original tool roll and tools. All matching numbers, of course. We welcome any mechanical or body inspection, as we do not believe there is a Lusso that can compare in today's market in this price range. Ready for any touring event or show. Now priced at only $549,500.
