1969 Ford Shelby Mustang GT-500 428 Cobra Jet

One Owner - 8,531 original miles

We are offering this 1969 Shelby Mustang GT-500 (Shelby Serial Number 1946) from the estate of Larry A. Brown, the original and only owner of this unrestored Shelby Mustang survivor with 8,531 original miles.  It is finished in Black Jade with a black interior and features a 428 Cobra Jet engine with a 4-speed transmission. 

The Shelby American World Registry documents this car with Eger Motors, Inc., McKeesport, PA as the original Shelby selling dealer on May 9, 1969 with an MSRP of $5,245.79.  

“As discovered” photos illustrate the time capsule with 40 years of dust and what appears to be the production line tires, belts, hoses, factory steering wheel cover and even the 1968 date coded spark plug wires.  The PA state inspection sticker on the windshield expired in January 1973.  From our initial inspection, the car appears to be extraordinarily original and complete.   Overall, the condition of the car looks excellent.  Upon initial inspection, the paint appears original and exceptional with virtually no damage, including the GT-500 decals.  Chrome and bright work look very good overall.  Mr. Brown’s mechanic indicated that car was operational as recently as 3 years ago and worked fine.
