1977 Ford Escort MK2 RS1800 driven by Colin McRae will be auctioned
A 1977 Ford Escort MK2 R1800 which the late Colin McRae tested will be auctioned on February 22, 2014 at Race Retro by Silvestrone Auctions.
The vehicle was developed and built by Prepfab Motorsport Engineering and was tested by Colin McRae himself. His father, Jimmy McRae, drove the car to victory in the 2006 Roger Albert Clark Rally while two years later his brother Alister McRae took the win in the Colin McRae Memorial Rally. In 2009 it went through a rebuild process and after that it took part in the 2010 and 2011 Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca.
The 1977 Ford Escort MK2 RS1800 Gp4 Historic Rally Car is estimated to fetch between 65,000 and 85,000 GBP at the auction and will come bundled with the MSA stage rally logbook.
