High Tech Prop Plane Retraces Historic Flight (Bloomberg)

A young woman living in the Denver area happens to have been named Amelia Earhart by her parents. It may come as a surprise but she decided to learn how to fly. Not just that, next year she's going to fly around the world and hopefully fare better than her namesake. Bloomberg's Willem Marx reports. (Source: Bloomberg)

An interesting aspect of this event will be the live streaming of the avionics - 24,000km and 100hrs of flight with multiple stops ~ should be an interesting effort to follow.  And she choose a plane that she refers to as a plane any pilots dreams of being able to fly - powerful, reliable, stable, full avionics > and most importantly, the most engine reliable engine in the business, a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67P engine.

The flight is scheduled for Summer 2014 > I will likely be following at The Amelia Project site to watch their progress leading up to and for the duration of the flight.
