When I grew up, we had the most intense HO Scale car racing and train set. If I remember correctly, a 4x8 flat sheet plywood that had the train set form the base with the car race track overtop so there were tunnels and lots of elevation change for the car racing. A complete landscaping and greenery finished the layout. My dad put incredible energy into building a true work of art. My brother had a '63 split window Corvette coupe. I had a green '62 XKE Coupe. This story obviously strikes a pleasant chord with me.
