We know about the benefits of 100 percent torque at launch from the electric cars that are filtering into the test fleet. But think about what that can do for a motorcycle.The Swigz.com Pro Racing Team notched a mark of 190.6 mph on an electric bike. Crowds witnessed the event at the Mojave Mile Shootout on April 10 in California. The previous top speeds of electric bikes are in the 170-mph range.While getting ready for his shot at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, rider and team owner Chip Yates told his squad to take a two-week detour and prepare the bike for a top-speed run in the desert. The Swigz.com bike is normally set up for road racing.Organizers of the shootout were happy to have them.
