New Ferrari 599 GTO: driven
TopGear’s Bill Thomas is in Italy to test the new 660bhp 599 GTO, the fastest road-going car that Ferrari has ever built...

Super and splendid way to start the working day. Greeted at Ferrari's test track in Mugello. By two 599 GTOs and a Ferrari F1 truck with engineers milling around. Things are looking good. And the 670bhp V12 should sound good.

12:40pm
Well, I've driven it. But I can't talk about it. Ferrari has imposed an embargo on driving impressions of 5 May. Darn! But I'm going to break that embargo. I'm texting this, and I think I'll have to end with this - :-)
It looks the absolute business. Very different to a standard 599, with its wider front and rear bumpers, bigger diffuser, bonnet vents and the coolest thing of all, a black prancing horse badge on the tail. It's the ultimate Ferrari, in other words. 670bhp. V12. Nothing will beat it until the Enzo arrives.
