a TRUE mechanical symphony (ok maybe frenzy)

This blog's title originates in my thoughts around the auditory qualities and quantities provided by various mechanical devices at very high speeds. I recall attending my first and only formula one race at Brand's Hatch in 1986. I have incredible memories of the wail of the Ferraris and Mclarens. The current generation Formula 1 engine is such a beast. Max revs touch 20,000rpm. Just think of the incredible forces experienced by the components of such a beast. The heat generated by the brakes to slow these monsters down glow red hot. And their exhaust too. VODCars.com is a superb site with no talking, just speed. Skip to 6:14 of the video and witness a mechanical symphony (and white hot exhaust of a bench-testing F1 engine. Now THAT's a symphony. Please respect the enormity of this by turning your volume to maximum.
